Big and loving it!
It's official - I'm really fat. At my last appointment on May 30, where the meanie beanie pho pheny doctor gave me these ridiculous shots (hepatitis B...what kind of girl do you think I am?), I weighed in at a hefty 17 pounds, 13 ounces. Yes, that's nearly triple my birth weight, but what's a hungry girl to do? And anyway, it's not like I'm eating formula, I'm au naturelle. Though my weight is off the charts for a four-month old (Mommy says it's cute), my height is pretty standard - 24.5 inches - a bit above average, but nothing crazy. Head circumference is also normal though on the smaller side (big brains can come in small packages you know). All social skills are on target - I'm laughing (with a very infectious, high-pitched giggle if I do say so myself), recognize my good-looking smile in the mirror (and am a bit shy with it), can stand with assistance from Mommy for several minutes at a time, can sit with minimal help from Mommy or boppy, and grab and hold objects (like Mommy's hair, which also tastes good). I'm not so much interested in syllables anymore but am more fascinated with tuneless streams of soprano sound. There are signs of teething - drooling, sudden fits of inconsolable tears, putting hands in mouth, enjoying sliding my gums across smooth surfaces, hunger strikes etc - but no teeth per say. My eyes are still blue (who knows for how long) and my hair, or what's left of it, is still a strawberry blond, leaving me looking like I have no eyebrows or eyelashes (but I do, I do!). Basically, I'm a big, bombastic, blue-eyed blondie baby - and I love it.
