A few days (weeks) late, but finally the post you've all been waiting for: the report on my trip to Hawaii.
Long flight, but I hammed it up for all those seated around me to pass the time. I didn't sleep a wink (not really) the entire thirteen hours it took to get from Newark to Maui, so I had to do something to keep myself occupied and my mommy from doing anything for herself. Because that's my job - preventing my mother from ever finishing an entire issue of the New Yorker.
Once we got there, I had myself a protracted meltdown (also in the job description) but settled into something of a groove once the jet lag wore off. Okay, so I had another meltdown at the
luau but hey, I got rained on and it was past my bedtime. I
sunned myself,
splashed around in the pool, scrupulously avoided the
ocean (which is full of sharks), and enjoyed local cuisine (what there is of local cuisine and oh yeah, I guess I got it secondhand anyway). I rode around in a sedan chair (fine, it was a
backpack carrier) through the lush mountains and watched koi in of all things, a
koi pond. All in all, I had a fine time and I have the
pictures to prove it. Enjoy!
