Blogger Boo-boos
Blogger was sending out empty pictures of me (the horror!) so I shut down my groups service for a few posts so that I could fix the error of their ways. Everything should be honky dory now. There are some posts up here that did not go out the group and I have updated my sidebar links so you may want to check the site. Sorry for the inconvenience folks!

The Toy Manifesto
First off, this post is not an RFP (request for presents). Second, to all of those who have given me the many toys I have loved (and chewed), I thank you. But with my first birthday fast approaching, I have begun to reflect on my future relationship with toys and after much soul-searching, have come to some conclusions. Also, some people have asked Mommy or Daddy what a fun-loving but ambitious one-year old might want for her birthday. Here are my musings...
I am rather fond of wooden and fabric toys - especially those made in Europe, Canada, or the US. I'm into all-natural, even, dare I say, organic materials but am not a big fan of the plastics. I want to make my own music so I don't need automatic sounds or battery power (also, I'm thinking of Mommy's sanity here, for once).
Disney and Nickelodeon have enough money, why line their pockets by turning my bedroom into a Spongebob Squarepants/Dora the Explorer/Finding Nemo shrine (Sesame Street may be from PBS, but ditto for them and all their merchandising)? I'm still on the fence about Barbies but I'm trying to avoid toys that say "girls do housework, take care of children, and wear makeup" (fancy tea sets or cute tutus are okay but not so much baby dolls and mini-kitchens).
In short, I would like to play with toys that ignite my imagination and encourage my curiosity - toys that call upon my potential and ask me to actively power them, rather than the other way around.
I found a lot of these kinds of cool toys online at giggle, oompa, Land of Nod, Pottery Barn Kids & Pottery Barn Baby, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, MoMA, babystyle, Quincy, and padilly.com. In NYC, there's also Penny Whistle Toys, Didi's, Gepetto's Toy Box, Kidding Around, and of course, FAO Schwarz.

Holiday Glam Shots
Eleven months and ringing in the new year with some heavy-duty photo-taking. Enjoy these shots of me scaling furniture and people, along with the usual posed stills with the fam. I had a good time this holiday season, especially since I got my wheels (or legs should I say). Not walking yet, but am "scrawling," as my BFF Josh's mommy calls it, everywhere. I also have some new interesting noises like "oyoyoy" but I am not prepared to discuss their meaning yet.
I like to bounce up and down to songs, so you know I got rhythm. And making a lot of trouble, because frankly, I don't have much else to do. As a matter of fact, I was just thinking I saw an electrical outlet Mommy forgot to plug up. Better get to it! Enjoy the Holidays 2007 and Monkeying Around albums.
